Understanding of social organizationThe Social Organization, which was published in 1909, is a collection of articles on human nature and social order (1902) published 7 years ago, and the Understanding of Social Processes Social Process, 1918), which represents Courlies thought. Cooley was influenced by American social psychologist James Mark Baldwin, philosopher and psychologist William James, and played an important role in shaping American sociology and social psychology through interaction with John Dewey and Herbert Mead. In particular, James was influenced by his study of the essence of mind and self. So he sees social organization as a product of consciousness. In other words, the social organization that Kulley speaks is all the networks that humans make while they are alive, in short, all systems, maybe society itself. Thus, in "Understanding Social Organizations," organizations are not usually concerned with specific organizations such as bureaucratic organizations, corporate organizations, etc., which are discussed in general organizational theory. As it turns out, social consciousness and primitive groups are the main subjects of this work. This book deals with various topics such as primitive group, communication, democracy, public opinion, social class, institution, family, church, tradition, and gives a feeling like [Introduction to Sociology]. However, rather than tie several subjects together in parallel, we are organizing every chapter rhythmically with a single coherent theme - human nature. In addition, each theme reflects the situation of the United States at the time, but especially the debate about the dismantling of the family and the decline of the fertility rate gives the impression that it is looking at this age over time.
