Scott Young has observed the passive learning subculture, redesigning it for those who want to accomplish more with his seven principles behind every successful ultralearning project. Whether the goal is to be fluent in a language (or ten languages), earn the equivalent of a college degree in a fraction of the time, or learn multiple skills to build a product or business from the ground up, the principles in Ultralearning will guide you to success.Scott’s achievements make one thing clear; it is not what you learn, but how you learn that promises success. And, the best way to learn is not just to learn, but to ultralearn. Both inspiring and practical, this personalised account is a vital read for any driven learner.

They help us understand life, make decisions and solve problems. The best models help us make intelligent investments, develop ground-breaking technologies and even travel to outer space. Range [Hardcover]: In this landmark book, David Epstein shows you that the way to succeed is by sampling widely, gaining a breadth of experiences, taking detours, experimenting relentlessly, juggling many interests - in other words, by developing range.Studying the world's most successful athletes, artists, musicians, inventors and scientists, Epstein demonstrates why in most fields - especially those that are complex and unpredictable - generalists, not specialists are primed to excel.
The author of the Wall Street Journal bestseller Ultralearning explores why it’s so difficult for people to learn new skills, arguing that three factors must be met to make advancement possible, and offering 12 maxims to improve the way we learn. Life revolves around learning—in school, at our jobs, even in the things we do for fun. Yet learning is often mysterious. Sometimes it comes fairly quickly finding our way around a new neighborhood or picking up the routine at a new job. In other cases, it’s a slog. We may spend hours in the library, yet still not do well on an exam. We may want to switch companies, industries, or even professions, but not feel qualified to make the leap. Decades spent driving a car, typing on a computer, or hitting a tennis ball don’t reliably make us much better at them. Improvement can be fickle, if it comes at all. In Get Better At Anything , Scott Young argues that there are three key factors in helping us See—Most of what we know comes from other people. The ease of learning from others determines, to a large extent, how quickly we can improve. Do—Mastery requires practice. But not just any practice will do. Our brains our fantastic effort-saving machines, which can be both a tremendous advantage and a curse. Feedback—Progress requires constant adjustment. Not just the red stroke of a teacher’s pen, but the results of hands-on experience. When we’re able to learn from the example of other people, practice extensively ourselves, and get reliable feedback, rapid progress results. Yet, when one, or all, of these factors is inhibited, improvement often becomes impossible. Using research and real-life examples, Young breaks down these elements into twelve simple maxims. Whether you’re a student studying for an exam, an employee facing a new skill at work, or just want to get better at something you’re interested in, his insights will help you do it better.

WHY ULTRALEARNING?Learning is the foundation for success in nearly every aspect of life.First you start in school.Clearly learning matters here – learning well allows you to get good grades, get accepted to the best schools and graduate without the grind. Then you start work. Learning becomes a path to improvement – it gives you valuable skills so you can be a leader instead of just another cog in the system.Learning matters for your health. You need to learn what to eat, how to work out and how to maintain good habits. Learning matters for your relationships. Learning how people are, the best way to build connections and deepen them. Learning defines how you see yourself in the world, your sense of purpose in life and meaning.Given that learning underlies so much of life, why not start with learning how to learn better?Ultralearning is my approach to learning things well. There’s no one exact method for ultralearning, but there are some common principles amongst all 1.Self-education. Even if you’re in school, a self-education mindset puts you in the driver’s seat, controlling how and what you learn. Ultralearners don’t passively absorb education, they create it.2.Deep focus. Ultralearning isn’t a passive task. It demands hard, intense focus. The rewards for this effort, however, are large and it allows ultralearners to quickly develop skills that other people spend years unable to get a grasp on.3.Scientifically informed. Ultralearners don’t treat learning as a mystery. Instead, they use the best available understanding of the science of memory and skill-aquisition to use an approach that makes learning anything a step-by-step process.Ultralearning takes many forms, and the best way to recognize it is to first see some examples, so I’ll start by sharing my ultralearning projects, then move to explaining how you can start your own.
This is the little book with a lot of ideas. Ninety-nine of them, in fact. Seven chapters with 99 ideas to help you do more in less time. In this guide I’ve collected the best productivity ideas I’ve stumbled upon. Some of these are simple and others have almost doubled my productivity by adopting them."Scott Young’s The Little Book of Productivity is a self-help gem. I strongly recommend reading the book in full, and periodically going through the summary below to identify productivity techniques that you haven’t yet tried." - Stafforini.com"The idea is The volume of available information concerning 'productivity' is overwhelming. (Scott’s blog alone has contributed close to 300 articles on the subject.) This eBook attempts to cut through the clutter and identify 99 of the best ideas." - Cal Newport, author of So Good They Can't Ignore You
Indulge now and pay the price later? Or wait a little and reap bigger rewards in the future? Many of life’s biggest challenges come down to a simple trade off.Self-control isn’t easy. But it is possible to make it easier. In this guide, I’ve teamed up with cognitive science PhD student Jakub Jilek for another complete guide to understand the science of willpower and discipline.
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” - AristotleDo you have a habit you want to change? Maybe you want to quit smoking, stop eating unhealthy foods or turn around negative thoughts. Do you have a habit you want to create? Maybe you want to exercise more, stick to a new diet, work more productively, become friendlier or just enjoy life more.Whether you want to remove a bad habit or create a good one, this e-book will give you the means to achieving it. To most people changing a habit is a tremendous struggle. Spending years building up to a change and going through repeated failures before something sticks seems fairly common. I’m here to say that changing habits is nothing more than a skill, like riding a bicycle, and with the right information and training it is a skill anyone can develop.

A persistência é essencial.
