The author is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice for more than 18 years in Leroy, New York. He specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, alcoholism, and adult survivors of sexual abuse. For many years he has wanted to explore incidental learning, which led him to becoming an historian and writing this book on Silver Lake, New York. The author lives in both Silver Lake and Leroy, New York. His interests include walking, reading, playing cards, antique collecting and learning about railroads. Previous professional experiences include working at several social service agencies over the years. The author is married and has 3 grown adult children and several grandchildren.
