Ruth Whippman
Ruth Whippman is a British author and journalist living in the United States. Her essays, cultural criticism and journalism have appeared in the New York Times, Time magazine, New York magazine, The Guardian, The Huffington Post and elsewhere. She is the author of Boymom, Reimagining Boyhood in the Age of Impossible Masculinity (Harmony 2024) and America the Anxious (St Martin's 2016). Fortune Magazine described her as one of the "25 sharpest minds of the decade." Before becoming a full time writer she spent 10 years as a documentary producer and director at the BBC in London working across several BAFTA award winning series. She was educated at Cambridge University and is a regular contributor to radio and podcasts. She lives in California with her husband and three sons.
